Our annual trek to Jasper was once again a welcome rest in our busy lives. Our kids are getting so big now they can hike over most of the trails…and I must admit, I’m pretty excited about that…:) Our time in Jasper is tucked away in a cabin at night but outdoors for most of the time hiking around the many trails that make this place so majestic. Here is a little taste of our time in the mountains…Enjoy!

I (Julie), have been in-love with abstract art for a very, very long time. I finally decided to take some steps to create some art. I love that we live in such a creative space, David creating designs and illustrations, our kiddos creating works of art either painted, drawings, creating with their hands or on computers…this journey is fun. I know life can be busy and chaotic, but somehow, this appreciation for art seems to slow us down just enough, enough to stop and pause every once in a while….to enjoy, even for a moment…yes, this journey is fun!

I will update you every once in a while with what’s new here in the studio. Enjoy a few abstract pieces from some recent work.

Edmonton Family Photographer | Snowshoes

Things I learned about snowshoeing with a 6 year old….

1. She will love the idea of snowshoeing….for about 10 minutes.

2. She will need help when she falls…and falls…and falls.

3. Be prepared to carry the snowshoes for about an hour while she explores this snowy environment…:)

4. She may or may not want to try again….but enjoy every minute with her …those moments will go so fast!

What to do on a snowy day in Edmonton…drive through the blizzard like conditions…..to get to….the art store of course…with a special stop at the comic store and a hug from a wookie…:) Just had to highlight this lovely snow filled day!
